Kronos Free Gyros Day 8/31 to benefit Fisher House Foundation

It's no secret that I love free. Normally, when we talk about free it is in the financial sense. But, I also love the free that comes from living in the United States of America. But, that freedom does come at a price. Every day the men and women of our Armed Forces and their families pay the price for our freedom. This Tuesday, 8/31 is an opportunity for us in the Chicagoland area to give back to them.

On Tuesday, 54 restaurants in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs will be honoring this Free Kronos Gyro Coupon. They'll even let you use a different email addresses to print another coupon for a different location. At each participating Kronos Free Gyros Day restaurant you can find a donation box for Fisher House, a home away from home for our nation’s heroes.  While you are enjoying your free gyros sandwich, I encourage you to give back with a donation. The Fisher House™ program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House™ Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. 

These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.  There is at least one Fisher House™ at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the Fisher House™ program helps 12,000 families and has made more than three million days of lodging available to family members since it originated in 1990.

So grab some friends, head out for a free lunch and say thank you to our military for our freedom with a donation.
